Big AI is the network of corporations, investors, lobbyists, and government insiders whose profits all depend on the same thing: faster deployment, fewer rules, and no accountability. They don't need to conspire—they just need to keep getting richer from the same outcome. And right now, the people writing America's AI rules are the same people who stand to profit when there are no rules. The handful of companies are:
Anthropic
OpenAI
Google
Microsoft
Nvidia
X
Meta
Andreessen Horowitz
Palantir
Anduril
Amazon

By “major funders” we refer to investors who have invested over $150 million into AI companies. These are the investors who have the greatest influence over AI development, and are spending the most money to get their way in politics. Some AI companies are already publicly traded, and we are not targeting every shareholder of Google or Meta.

The pledge only applies to future contributions. If a candidate has previously taken money or received support from Big AI, we still expect the candidate to condemn any money Big AI has spent to influence their election. We are trying to shape our future, not litigate the past.
